Collegiate Lodge no 9943 is a part of the United Grand Lodge of England’s University Scheme.
It welcomes students, staff and alumni of Coventry University and University of Warwick, as well as those living in Coventry (England) with their own academic background.
One of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world, Freemasonry’s roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Freemasonry uses building analogies to teach members how to lead productive lives that benefit the communities that they live in. In today’s society Freemasons meet to build friendships and communities rather than cathedrals and castles.
Great for older, more experienced Brethren to be engaged with, encourage and enjoy the company of new and young Masons. I learn from them all the time
The lodge provides an education about freemasonry, and personal development to those pursuing an academic education. That’s really inspiring
I am delighted to see how the lodge has developed, and the quality of our new members. It has exceeded my expectations.
It’s been an awesome experience thus far as I have met a lot of amazing people
Becoming a mason is one of the most important things I’ve done in my life and I hope to continue enjoying masonry for a very long time
Collegiate Lodge has a homely atmosphere. You can feel the friendship and love in the air
To become a Freemason and join Collegiate Lodge in Coventry, you will need to be a man aged 18 or over, be of good character and believe in a Supreme Being (of whatever name). If you tick these 3 boxes, reach out to us via the contact form below. We look forward to meeting you, and answering any questions you may have.
Rather than working on buildings like the masons of old, today’s Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal.
Freemasonry provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life. Being a Freemason means something different to each person who joins, but whether looking to make acquaintances or develop their own potential, all members share a sense of togetherness that strengthens their ability to succeed and grow
With a membership of more than 200,000 people drawn from communities across the UK, Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their race, religion or any other perceived differences that can divide us as a society.
Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.
Founded in 2017 – the newest of 11 Lodges that meet in the Coventry Rooms
Part of UGLE’s University Scheme
Sponsored by Stivichall Lodge no 5799
Our 6th Worshipful Master is in the chair
12 of our 32 members were initiated into the lodge, and they have an average age of 32
Our membership now comes from many different countries of origin and several different faiths
Next year, will be a significant milestone as the Worshipful Master will be from the first group of our own initiates
In keeping with a young and dynamic membership, the meetings tend to be less formal, trimmed down and dining costs as cost-effective as possible
We welcome freemasons visiting – from near by or from around the world – and value their support
The atmosphere is one of collaborative support
We like exploring and understanding our different cultural backgrounds
We support and encourage each other in academic study and future employment plans
And finally – we enjoy socialising and visiting other lodges
